Supergirl approaches Zod,

SG: He's not here. you have failed

Zod: We found him. we intercepted his pod, we tried to extract the codex, but your cousin was not the one.. you are the one..

SG: What Did You DOOO?!

Zod: Kal-El, ..

Cavill steps out from the craft, dressed all black ..

Zod: destroy Supergirl!..

Dark Superman proceeds to take down Supergirl, before Keaton Batman turns up and they fight.. (but this time Batman has some kryptonite..) .. therefore: the REAL Batman v Superman!

They couldn't afford it.? It only cost like 200m.. More like the regime didn't want Cavill back in any real capacity

Ya, The Rock reportedly "fought" to have him in BA.

WB didn't want him, neither did James Gunn, Apparently.

Shame really, genuinely loved Cavill as Superman

lol, not a bad concept, even if only for five minutes considering the audience’s reaction to Cavill’s post-credit cameo in BA.

Maybe no even 5 minutes, possibly 2 minute enough .. 1 minute beating up SG. then 1m of batman v superman.

Kal-El about to kill Supergirl, Supergirl/Batman whispers Lara. Dark Superman wakes up and kills Zod and his army with a whimper.

But before Superman can kill Zod, Zod gets batman's kryptonite. and depowers Superman ..and breaks his neck! (callback to MoS!) then the movie continues as was.. Zod extracts codex from supergirl, batman dies etc
