I used to love Nancy! She was my favorite person in the world... Buuuuut as they got into mexico and she turned Andy down for the drug kingpin because she is selfish and naraccistic and ridiculously slutty as time goes on... It just drives me nuts the extrememes she goes to. Then when u find out that judia isn't Silas' dad that's it for me... I mean I know she has the best interest for the kids in mind but like Shane said its not like she is a bad role model because she is a drug dealer its because she is a bad drug dealer... And she doesn't think about anyone but herself.. In the seventh season she gets a job with Doug. How hard would it have been to go legit? How hard would it have been to just work her way up? But no, first day on the job she is looking for drug outlets... So yeah the quirky woman who drinks iced coffee who sells drugs at the soccer game and is semi normal is gone to greediness and stupid-ness and selfishness and sluttyness... Who knows maybe season 8 she will be worth a *beep* but right now on the season 7 finale I feel like she deserves everything she gets and may even a case of some crabs ?

I agree with a lot of what your saying. But I've seen a lot of people going on about her being a slut. Truth is tho if that was a male character it wouldn't be an issue.

lol its never gonna be the same for women as it is for guys, and its naive to think it should be.

women can literally walk up to any guy and ask for sex and get it. They need zero skill in order to solicit sex.

men have to entice a woman and prove his worth to her before she will have sex with him.

This means that women do not have to work to get sex, but men do, so women will never be considered equal when it comes to getting sex.

It is basically the woman's choice to have sex, not the mans. You dont get respect for being convinced to doing somethign thats fun, to excess. Only retarded women believe men and women should be equal in this respect.

I agree that's the way many people see it, but for me if it were a man, I'd be saying the same thing. I don't care if Nancy is slutty. That's part of what makes her interesting and fun to watch, the way I see it, but I can't disagree that she is slutty and the only reason why it would kind of bother me is that she choses the guys and her drug business over her kids. Just like when that DEA agent was being a dick to Silas. She didn't say something till later and told Silas off for it like it was his fault Peter was a dick/. It's not that she's slutty that bothers me, it's *beep* like putting everything else above your kids that bothers me. While Jill isn't a good parent either and shouldn't have had Stevie, Nancy shouldn't have him either She isn't a good mother. She tries to be once in a great while, but that isn't good enough.

But why is it when it comes to women they are always defined by their motherhood. Nancy is a person, and yes she failes sometimes, but so what? Why are women always supposed to be great mothers? Walter White isn't a good father and no one gives him hell for that.

Valid point petals.
I believe it has something to do with women expected to be natural nurturers. No matter how much we talk about equality there is still the unspoken double standard (and always will be I expect). Men biologically are not the nurturer but rather the provider, so Walter going to great lengths to provide for his family is simply admirable for the viewing audience. He is living up to and exceeding the expectations of his gender. Nancy on the other hand is not living up to the visceral perception of her gender. I can't say that it's exactly fair, but that's my opinion of it anyhow.

Petals makes a good point. Women are not supposed to want anything beyond what biology dictates. God forbid they should be a human being with desires and ambitions unrelated to their capacity to breed. (And yes, some women need to have children, but as the planet is overpopulated, those who don't are probably doing everyone else a favor.)

A male character would not be judged in the same way.

Anyway, Nancy isn't so bad. She has made some questionable decisions, but she's quite nice to her kids I think. I know of some really bad mothers, controlling bullies, women who sell their kids to pedophiles for drugs, etc - Nancy is not in that league. And let's not forget all the parents who actually kill their children through neglect or abuse.

I disagree, Walter White is similar, but less funny, to Nancy. Also a bad parent and husband. He actually takes it step further and takes an ex student under his wing kinda like a father would..except is bad at that too. I would say Walter is much worse, however that's also due to the show being far darker.

As far as series I've watched, biggest slut goes to Jason Stackhouse of True Blood.

I just hate how she gets her way all the time. Could care less who she sleeps with. But am so sick of everything going her way. Not quite to the end but feel like she will come out just fine and she does not deserve it. I want her back in prison for good.

I've been binge watching this show over the last couple of weeks now, and I'm up to the end of season 5. I have to admit that I am sick to death of Nancy. She is extremely narcissistic, selfish and naive about her impact on the world. Not to mention she is written in a way where there's no tension around anything that revolves around her. The writers may constantly pull the rug from under her feet, but she almost seems to end up in the exact same position afterwards. Same core characters, same basic conflicts, and her in the middle feeling sorry for herself.

I know it's part brilliant acting too be that convincing at being a horrible person, and part lazy writing for never changing the character across the first five seasons, but right now I just hope the show ends with her dying. To me it would be the perfect end, cause then finally in the end she would get what she's had coming since season 1. She has constantly done incredibly stupid things that would have gotten a male character or a non-leading character killing, beaten up or something like that, but she is perfectly untouched with a light slap here and there as her biggest punishments! I know it's main character syndrome, but even Shane has gotten shot at this stage, and every other noteworthy character that's been around since the start has been beaten up or had something *beep* happen to them, but not Nancy, and it's driving me crazy.

Sorry, that went really off topic. The point is that, yes, I really dislike Nancy as well at this stage, and I hope something happens to her in either a violent way or that her character changes, cause it's getting harder to watch the show because of her.

The show is like The shield or Sopranos by the end your suppose to dislike the main character even tho their played very well.
