stop motion style like 'The Tale of the Fox' (1930)

I grew up with 80s&90s television, and we had a lot of stop motion back in the day, like Michael Jackson videos or Harryhausen films.

But the style that Robot Chicken reminds me the most of is from 'The Tale of the Fox'. Did the team behind Robot Chicken read the instruction books for this movie? Cause many of the scenes in there look like Robot Chicken in black and white.

Slower paced, much better models. I'm sure stop-motion plastic dolls was done before, but I doubt any was notable.

The Robot Chicken style of humor reminds me most of 60s underground comix.
