STUPID NAME

but EXCELLENT SHOW

i really enjoy the show.

but "untold stories" is asinine.

...they're not untold if they're on effing tv.

reply

Well, they were untold till they got on TV. But nevermind that, the use of the term "ER" is just as asinine. It's not one room, it's a department of the hospital containing many rooms. Technically, it should be, "ED," for Emergency Department.

A lot of hospitals use the term ER. And ER's are generally where they do drop-in surgery's or non-insured emergencies requiring major surgery. Where I volunteer, the medical center does not have a ER. It is called Urgent Care. And the reason why it is called Urgent Care is because it does NOT have a surgery room inside the department. Major surgery's are transferred to Virginia Mason. Whereas, at my medical center they can only do minor surgerys.

I also think studios may not be able to use a new show just called ER because it is was too popular of a show with huge stars. "Untold Stories of ER" name sounds strictly like a reality show.

I never watched this show, but I had a feeling from being on set to that this was a docu-drama type of show--some truth to the stories but with some facts made up. The day I was there they flew in the real EMT's that were related to the real story they were telling. In other words--not actors. But some are actors. And this is the ONLY SHOW I KNOW where a background actor, AKA Extra, can just pass in front of the actor in front of the camera without being yelled at--as long as you do not look in the lens. But you can rudely pass right in front of the actor as he is saying his lines. In fact, they encourage it. But actually I was told to look at the lens. They have a great background rate of $101.25/12. Most shows in LA are based on $64/8. This is a NON-UNION, NON-SAG, NON-AFTRA show. I was an extra maybe in 2007 I am guessing.
