The doctor in the child abuse case.

Omg, this doctor in this case of suspected child abuse, is such an *beep* He acts like everyone but him had treated the parents unfairly, but no, not him, the one who suspected in child abuse in the first place and alerted authorities. He completely throws everyone else under the bus, the nurses are gossiping, staring at the parents, and talking badly about them because they already assume their guilt, the social worker is inept and scaring the child while asking leading questions, but no not him, the doctor is calm and fair, and completely solves the case by himself and vindicates the parents.

I totally agree, I worked in a ER/Hospital and I never saw such BS.... If the Doctor DID his JOB in the first place by an actual exam he would have seen the blue eyes BEFORE accusing the parents of abuse ! The dad wouldnt have been arrested and the child protective services holier than thou woman wouldnt have been there to show her "power"

You both are forgetting was important peice with the so called possiblity of a child abuse. the family didn't wan the boy to get look at, the dad took teh child and got caught. so they were acting fishey from the start so the hosptail was on alert from the get go. If the family just relax and went through the steps they be "ok" and wouldn't of really thought twice. the way the way the women acted would of did for anyone with common sense to check it out.

Who says the doctor can make a call, the doctor is not god,(shh dont tell him he isnt god, he may freak out) In ANY exam or procedure, it is the PATIENT that is in charge NOT the doctor, not the nurses etc ... And if my kid got hurt, and not by my fault, ex a true accident.. And the doctor or anyone else pointed the finger at me, the doctor wouldnt need to worry about a lawsuit, he better start running. I dont blame the parents from trying to get away from this quack.

It takes a lot to cause a skull fracture and the woman's story wasn't really adding up that it was a simple fall in the child's bedroom. The doctor did what he was trained to do if he ever suspects child abuse - to make sure the right people know. Taking the kid and trying to leave only made the parents look worse.

Yeah, it was ok for the doctor to suspect child abuse given the circumstances, but they have the real doctor from the case narrating the episode, and he was accusing everyone else from the parents to the nurses to the social worker of acting inappropriate. He threw everyone else under the bus, and he directly insults the nurses and social worker for how he thinks they acted, but no not himself eventhough he is the one who suspects child abuse to begin with. Also, what he claims the nurses did could get them into trouble, and what he claimed the social worker did, could get her fired.

As a medical professional, as soon as we have any indication of child abuse, we have to report it. And I understand that he was pointing fingers, but the RNs shouldn't be gossiping, and the social worker isn't supposed to ask leading questions. Although, I do think he should have apologized to the parents after the ordeal was over.
