Agree, i think the only reason he is here is because he already is a head chef and Gordon wants to see if he can truly make it.
He should have gone, he and Matt were the worst of the recent episodes.

Yes, I think that's it. Paulie (a/k/a "new Matt") is a head chef so theoretically is a good contender for the finals. Wendy, with her great palate, didn't have that experience. But Heaven help any kitchen where Paulie is the head chef! He's a loathsome person, so dismissive of everyone except for his own wonderful self. I wish he'd go home soon but suspect he won't.
