Not everyone marries with the intention of it being forever. And even if it is the intention, it's not a terribly reliable one.
I told my current husband that I was not promising to be with him for life (I already made that mistake with my first husband). Each day I'm with him is a day I'm choosing to be with him, so he will never have to wonder if I'm just staying out of obligation.
