What amazing things did Yaz do that would make the Doctor think she was the most amazing person he'd ever met? Given that he knew River, and Rose, and Mary Jane, and Martha, and Amy, and Clara, and Donna, and the Master, to name a few?

He often comments how awesome he finds human beings to be, or shows a little envy at people just having normal lives. Maybe The Doctor just think that all his companions are super incredible?
Oh that’s par for the course with the Doctor. Every companion is the best at their particular time. Sarah-Jane was his best friend, Martha saved the world, Donna the most important person, Rose the love of his life.. never let it be said that the Doctor is afraid of hyperbole when it comes to his companions.
