What with The Other Doctor turning up. One that previously didn't know existed. That and all the hints about everything you knew to be a lie.
Is a huge retcon coming?
I don't know how comfortable I am with that.
I'd be surprised if it was a big retcon. I think it's more likely an alternate timeline/universe thing.
I thought the Judoon episode was _finally_ a return to some of the fun that I remember from older seasons of the show. I'm hoping they can keep this going and avoid the awkward virtue signaling that spoiled past episodes.
I enjoyed it for the most part, especially the surprise return of Captain Jack. I'm hoping his; "I'll be here if the Doctor needs me" line is a hint that he's returning later in the series.
I don't like the idea of introducing previously unseen Doctors though, and am nervous that this is where this series is heading. I wasn't keen on John Hurt appearing as The Doctor though, despite how great his performance was. No discredit to the actor, but if they couldn't get Eccleston back I'd rather have had McGann return. He came back for a short episode anyway.

sharePeople don't like it when their favourite stories and characters are changed into soapbox mythology, especially when this is a retcon. It's telling people that their heroes never existed. It's like fictional gaslighting and it feels wretched.
