I hear the sound of exploding heads ...

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly this week, Jodie let the big news slip – perhaps accidentally – that she will be back for a 13th series.

"I'm doing another season," she said. "That might be a massive exclusive that I'm not supposed to say, but it's unhelpful for me to say [I don't know] because it would be a massive lie!"

Before fans get too excited about the next series, Jodie teased that The Doctor's upcoming run-in with the Cybermen is going to be unlike any of their previous encounters.

"[The Cybermen have] got a lot of presence on set," Whittaker said. "When they move in unison, it's incredible. It's really exciting."

That was predictable. They can't fire her without being accused of being misogynist. And at the same time audiences are in fast decline. BBC made its bed, and now they don't know how to fix it.

wow the sexism is strong with the post-Jodie has been great as The Doctor, The Doctor and the Companions are not contractually obliged to the show the average time of an actor being the Doctor is 4 Years Tom Baker most tenured Doctor with 7 Years come on guys we need forward-thinking people not misogynist like you Eleven With always be my Doctor but I like Jodie as well the Doctor shouldn't be limited to specific Gender also SJW existed prior to creation Madame Vasta and Jenny were a Lesbian couple (During Smiths Tenure)

quit harassing me you bigot womanizer

The issue isn’t that she’s a woman, the issue is that this particular woman feels nothing like The Doctor. It’s just “off.” Put Olivia Coleman in the roll and you might have something. And I agree about the need for periods. Very hard to read your post without punctuation.

I'm actually happy. I've always admired I wasn't really a fan last series but she seems to be doing great this series. We are starting to see cracks in her energetic bubbly persona and it's starting to get interesting

Yeah for me the current season is the most entertaining since the first or second Matt Smith season.

I think history will be kind to s12.

Good that is the way
