World Enough and Time *Spoiler alert*

Great episode! The episode opens with a fantastic teaser. The TARDIS lands on a wintery planet. The Doctor stumbles out and begins to regenerate. Cue opening credits.

In flashback, The TARDIS apears on a humungously large ship - 400 miles long by 100 miles wide - that's perched on the edge of a black hole. Out comes Nardole, Bill, and Missy - who's pretending to be "Doctor Who" (there's a very funny riff from Missy about how that's his real name). Answering the ship's distress call, this is supposed to be a test for Missy to see how well she does in a role The Doctor would normally take on, while The Doctor stays back in the TARDIS, relaying info to the trio through earpieces.

Not enough space to go into everything that happens, but Bill gets shot through the stomach and is taken to the other end of the ship (closer to the black hole, where time runs faster) to be repaired. She's befriended by a character named Razor. Eventually, The Doctor, Nardole, and Missy take the lift to the other end of the ship, where a great city has been formed (remember, the ship is 400x100 miles). Of course, if you've seen the previews, everything that's happened has given you enough clues that people are being turned into Cybermen. Bill, whose wound has been repaired, has a conspicously lumpy chest with lights underneath. So it really comes as no surprise that by the end of the episode she's been given the full Cyberman treatment.

The other twist comes when the comical Razor turns out to be The Master (John Simm) in disguise! Why didn't I see that coming? I knew John Simm was going to be in this episode. I knew the Master had a penchant for disguise! I guess because in the original series whenever The Master turned up in disguise it was patently obvious due to the crappy makeup job done to him. In this episode I was completely surprised.

With Bill-turned-cyberman, and Missy-turned-bad, a cliffhanger is inevitable. C U next week!

Although part of the plot was very similar to The Girl Who Waited, I liked that they used an actual property of black holes to explain it, rather than having to invent a mechanism. Having time move at different speeds along the length of the ship was a nice touch. I'm looking forward to where the story goes from here :)

Since Peter Capaldi is supposed to play The Doctor in the xmas episode, I'm guessing The Doctor will regenerate then - the wintery scene we saw at the beginning of the episode being from it. Meaning, we're going to have to wait ALMOST SIX LONG MONTHS to find out what happens!

When I saw Razor, I thought he looked like one of the Klingon's from Star Trek: Enterprise, as in the first type with with the augment virus that was in between the more human look of Star Trek: OS and Star Trek: Next Gen. Which may have been the intention, given in the comics there's a whole Doctor Who and Star Trek crossover where the Borg entered into an alliance with the Cybermen and they did give the 11th Doctor a Borg like assimilation look (Ep: Nightmare in Silver).
