At least the Tardis didn't blow itself up for no reason today.

Between River and Nardole the Tardis seems to drop its handbrake pretty easily.

reply

There seemed to be more to it than just dropping the handbrake. As I wrote on the other thread, if it's not resolved in an upcoming episode it's just a spot of "convenience" to suddenly have the TARDIS take off like that. Maybe Gatiss just couldn't think of what to do with Nardole in that episode? If so, that's just bad writing. I hoping Missy had something to do with it, so that Nardole would have to come to her for help. And what did that scene in the TARDIS at the close of the episode mean?

reply

There did seem to be added tension which wasn't explained when Missy asked the Doctor if he was "All right".

I too am hoping that there's more to the story than the Tardis secretly breaking, perhaps something of the Pandora or cracks coming back - And don't forget we've seen a brief flash of
John Simms with a goatee after the first episode aired and so maybe more Master than just Missy...
reply

I read that there was going to be an episode with
The Master and Missy together! To me, that's exciting and interesting because it hasn't been done before. It'd be cool if they could find actors to play the Delgaldo and Ainsley incarnations of The Master, too.
reply

You know, the first thing I thought of when the TARDIS took off was that it was taking itself away from danger - but then there really wasn't anything that would've put it in danger there.

reply

Between the Tardis doing it in this episode and the thing with River where it blew up there seems to be unresolved areas to Moffat's patchwork - I hope he addresses them and clears it all up nicely :)

reply
The Four Masters?
That would be cool.

Next week's episode seems to be a return to a standard story and so I'm thinking it'll be a week after that again before we get any wind of this possibility.

reply

There are only a few episodes left! The next episode, then the one with the Cybermen, and then, I think, "The Doctor Falls" (ooooooh, ominous!)

reply

Should all be coming to a head with the Crimbo special hopefully being Moffat's swan song as show runner and Capaldo's exit.

Unless you have your own Tardis we'll just have to wait and see :D

reply

You know a Timelord should probably not reveal themselves to humans, so.... ;)

reply

At least bring me back some of this Christmas' turkey dinner MrWitticism (No Brussels sprouts though!)

;)

and some satsuma oranges from Santa Claus!

I always get coal :p

How many eps ARE there left? For some reason i thought it was only going to be 10, but maybe not? Then of course you have the Xmas episode. I was thinking that was when the generation takes place. ?

reply

There's next week's episode, The Eaters of Light (ep. 10), then World Enough and Time, with the Cybermen (though it sounds like James Bond should be in there somewhere), and then episode 12 The Doctor Falls (da da DAAAAH! dramatic musical sting). And then the Xmas special, of course, will air at Xmas time.

reply

Thanks!! It just goes so fast.

In an online search I just did, one result that came up was a damn intriguingly titled article from the Radio Times about the Christmas episode - which is very tempting to read, but it contains spoilers. It has to do with how the return of a previous companion could solve the first-ever plot hole! I wanna know, but I don't!

reply

Does it mean from the original series, or from the reboot on?

reply

Hmmmm. Intriguing. But I don't wanna kniw, either.
