New work by Ueno Juri

I found the following when I did a search for "Ueno Juri" on Yahoo. Does anyone know more about this movie?

The Star Converge (“Chirusoku no natsu”)
Dir: Sasabe Kiyoshi / 2003 / Japanese, Korean / Color / 114 min

A goodwill track-and-field competition between high school students from Shimonoseki and Pusan, held on July 7, 1977. Ikuko meets a boy from Korea. They promise to meet again, like the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi celebrated on July 7 (called “Tanabata” in Japanese, and “Chirusoku” in Korean). This masterpiece depicts the love and friendship that grows in Pusan under martial law. Features excellent performance by Ueno Juri, who appeared in Swing Girls (shot in Yamagata).

Update:

Found a little information, albeit in Chinese:

*《冷笑大天使》改拍成電影。

<ALBATROS>少女漫畫家川原泉的代表作,《冷笑大天使》改拍成電影,由上野樹里主演,導演為小田一生。預計將在2005年夏季完成,2006年上映。1月22日

According to the above this movie is an adaptation of a comic (loosely translated) called "Sneering Arch-Angel. It will be/is completed summer '05 and will be aired in 2006.

Kame wa igai to hayaku oyogu is basically about a bored housewife(Ueno) who becomes a spy. She was in search of action and suspense but now finds she must lead an even more boring life in order to stay inconspicuous. Plus there are a bunch of other spys in town and its by Miki so it should be pretty good.

Warau Mikaeru is based off a manga about a boarding school. It also has Yusuke Iseya from Casshern in it.
Here you can find production diary with stills and whatnot.

Thanks. Nice to know someone still visits this forum.

As most of the news I found are in Japanese I can only go by the occasional Hanji character and the photos. Look forward to more news on Ueno.

On another note I've just finished "Orange Days". I watched this to find out how Ueno did and was surprisingly moved by the whole experience. The theme music is excellent and is now stored in my iPod.
