I hate movies based on comic books ordinarily, but I was pleasantly surprised how entertaining "V for Vendetta" was. Ironically enough, I was led to the film well after its release due to its exposure through the hacker collective Anonymous who appropriated the Guy Fawkes symbolism from the film as the defining image of their antiestablishment ethos.

Most comic book movies are superheroes, and while V for Vendetta has some superhero-type elements, it's very different from that genre. Perhaps most notable is the repulsive side of V himself.
