You guys just don't get it.

I see left vs right politics.
I see anti-Christian

This movie is simple:
Freedom vs Control
And fake Christianity vs Christianity.

You guys are over thinking it.

Someone once told me, "People see it how they want to."

That's so true.

Objectively though, you are wrong.

It IS about Freedom vs Control.
The movie doesn't speak against Christianity.
V actually uses the contrast to promote it in pointing to how things should be versus
how they are in the edicts that they state pretends to follow.

It's that simple guys.

V is fighting for fairness, justice, and freedom.

Period.

That's it guys. That's it.

Is it still good enough for you?

Since it doesn't exactly fit your political narrative.

Is it still good enough for you?

You see it. I'm afraid it is way over the head of common mental infants.

Wow, this board has definitely morphed into something new over the past 7 years. 

reply

Nah, not really. Still full of people like the OP who are convinced they have "figured it out", and if you disagree, well then.....you just don't understand or "get it".

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

We are oft to blame in this,
'Tis too much proved - that with devotion's visage
And pious action we do sugar o'er
The devil himself.

Digging deeper it's about fear. As he locked Portmans character away she was overcoming her fear of death ultimately. You see the corruption as a form of trying to control people with fear. Fear is the illusion of having control or lacking control. When you drop the needing to control or the lacking control you drop the fear. Deeper the fear of death. Something that V was missing in himself when he looked for vengeance. With fear comes chaos. When you get over fear comes stillness and clarity. It's a sign of growth and evolution.

Also a theme was the illusion of perception. When Portmans character was locked away she wasn't being held prisoner. It was a test of the best intentions. Which is what life is. We are here to grow. To overcome challenges. To overcome fear. Every test we receive it is for the best intentions.

Mass media and the worlds leaders try to control with illusion. It's not until we see for ourselves that we are living in fear. In wanting to be controlled. And want control ourselves. The intention changes to not giving a *beep* about control and about growing as a person and overcoming fears.
