THQ reveals that Destroy All Humans! 2 is in the works.

April 18, 2006 - We just can't seem to get enough alien invasions of our beloved planet Earth... and neither can THQ and Pandemic who announced today the development of Destroy All Humans! 2 (no, that's not a punctuation error), the sequel to last year's tongue-in-cheek alien attack epic.

In DAH2, players will again assume the role of Crypto 137, the Furon scout who caused such chaos in the original game. However, this time Cyrpto will find himself (itself?) in the 1960s - the era of free love, long-haired hippies, and the Cold War. Just as the first game poked fun at the icons of the previous decade, the sequel seeks to do the same with those of the Swinging Sixties as Cyrpto will have access to "an upgraded arsenal of weapons and enhanced mental abilities" as he battles a slew of new enemies ranging from "secret agents and giant creatures to Soviet Forces and ninja warriors."

According to Pandemic President Josh Resnick, the company is "pulling out all the stops for the sequel" by the addition of multiplayer co-op, five new open-worlds to explore and "the same irreverent humor" that defined the original game.

The game is currently scheduled for release on the Xbox and PlayStation 2 consoles this coming fall.

Does that mean that two players have to play it? Or can just one player play it? Cannot wait for the fall to come by, DAH! 2 here I come.

ive only got ps2 and aint much of a gamer so wouldnt buy an xbox. loved the original though.
anione know if this ones on ps2 or even ps3?

Everything I've read say it'll be for PS2 and the original XBOX simply because they want to get the game out quickly, to consoles already well established in the market. I think this is a mistake, people are going to want better graphics and more gameplay, which the PS2 just can't deliver anymore.

They really should make the sequel for PS3 and XBOX 360. I just hope that DESTROY ALL HUMANS 2 sells well so we'll get a third which will almost certainly be for PS3 and XBOX 360.

Three screenshots is all they got over at THQ right now, COME ON!! Get the official website up and running already! I don't think this game will be solely available for the nex gen consoles (even though you will be able to use it on them anyway) since nex gen is still relatively new (and only one of the three consoles is out right now) so they want to sell to the biggest market possible, does anyone know if it'll be for the PC?

Ay, 'tis a shame it won't be on the PC, since a powerful computer can blow most consoles out of the water graphics wise. Oh well, ya can't have everthing, I'm very disappointed by the poor coverage of the game so far, it may just be because its in the early stages of development and very little info is being released, but the pages for it on game sites are tiny, a few have no content further than the title. I hope all this changes in the future. I am glad that we finally see some areas that aren't in America, its just like silhouette said, America isn't the only country on Earth (although the portrayal of 1950's America is fantastic!)

I think Destroy All Humans! 2 should be on PC versions, but on PS3 amd the newer Xbox, no. I don't have that type of money to go out and buy a new consol for a game I'm googoo over.

Anyone know if Pox is in the sequel?

Well if Pox isn't in the sequel they better find a good replacement since Crypto and Pox were a true comedy duo. I also think that you should be able to walk around the mothership instead of it being just a menu, maybe have a bridge, a weapons locker and a couple of other Furons walking around, is that so wrong?

Hell yeah, Crypto and Pox, Pox was Crypto's father figure. So it would be really weird to have Pox out with Crypto in. Extra Furons are an excellent idea. Walking around the mothership and driving cars and crashing into people would be a hit. Watching people make love, in a cut scene, would also be a good thing. Hehehehehehehehehehehehe

Driving cars was something painfully absent from the last game, however this time there is a mental ability called body snatcher which lets you actually walk around in human bodies, it should follow that you should be able to drive in the vehicles too, imagine what fun you could have with a tank! As for the cutscene, well, to each his own (although in the original game in Rockwell there were several steamed up cars)

Yeah, but we had no cut scene of it actually happening. Driving a tank AND a helicopter. I wanna see more of Pox, all we saw of Pox was at the beginning, nothing else except that. I'd also like to see the planet the Furons lived on and what Crypto did in his absence

Haul ass over to Gamespot, they have 24 screenshots and an official trailer for the game, I've only got a quite glimpse myself (damn you 56k connection) but they look great!

Has anyone noticed that there are more screenshots for the Xbox than there are for the PS2, that seems a bit unfair. AND STILL NO OFFICIAL WEBSITE!!

"reply - actually the PS3's blu ray disc is the most powerful and fastest game play disk there is and only the ps3 can play it coz it has a cell proccesser to be able to, PC can't weither how much you upgrade your PC it wont be able to play blu ray disc's. once the ps3 is out, approximatly gonna cost round $1000 for here in aust, it will blow the PC out of its way.. as its assumed to be 10 times more powerful and graphic wise than the fully upgraded PC out there. thankyou"

Go look at the second trailer on gamespot.com it shows some saucer action. the old saucer was nothing compared to the destruction this baby is capable of.
