why the hell did she never reply to the IMs that gave her the link to the hate site? she should have replied and said something!! i mean why would she keep the person on her buddy list?
shareOn the screen you can see the IMs were coming from people that weren't on her buddy list, although I would have just blocked them, seriously, do you ever click links sent from people you don't know?
shareI agree that she should have changed her screen name or at least blocked the people who were tormenting her. In a way, though, I can understand that on some level, Vanessa wanted to know what people were doing and saying about her. It's like a train wreck - you can't look away.
I don't think it was unrealistic, though, that she took no action. A lot of people think Vanessa was just really stupid and clueless, but you have to remember, she's a teenager, and on top of that, she's a very insecure teenager. I have run across girls exactly like her, and if we were to be honest, I think all of us could relate to at least some part of her personality from when we were that age.
