I'm Sorry But...

Vanessa was kinda stupid in this movie because she was kinda setting herself up to be bullied. When she first realized that Stacey was one the behind this she should've CUT her off right then. And the part that really got my blood boiling was when Stacey copied Vanessa's assignment and then Vanessa just sat there and lied for her even though she had the evidence right there. I wanted to just SMACK her at this point!

Vanessa had been friends with Stacy for years and naturally believed her when she said she was sorry she made her feel that way and then needed help on the assignment. When Stacy was caught for cheating, Nessa was put in a tough spot; she was still probably hoping Stacy got her vitriol out of her system and was ready to forgive, but she also probably knew there'd be hell from Stacy's little bitches if she turned on her.

Yeah but there were several incidents that occurred, it wasn't just one.
Examples:

-When Nikki blocked her from sitting at the table Stacey didn't even stick up for her she just sat there and did nothing.

-When Vanessa told Stacey about the boy she met at camp Stacey obviously told the other girls about it(even though Vanessa told her not to) when it was supposed to be between Stacey and Vanessa.

-The assignment. Stacey did not need help. She just asked to see Vanessa's paper because she was an A student and she figured that she could just copy her's and get away with it.

-The birthday party that Stacey invited Vanessa to was a set up from the beginning. She knew exactly what she was doing.

-When Vanessa was having yet another private chat with Stacey she showed Nikki and she later printed it and read it out loud to the entire school.

I'm not saying that it wasn't wrong what Stacey did to Vanessa but she was kinda naive because by the third incident she should've realized that Stacey wasn't really her friend. She was extremely manipulative too because she constantly played the innocent victim and conned her way out of every situation. And those other girls were nothing but followers. There were just instigating what Stacey had already initiated. When Vanessa was telling Stacey off at the end Nikki and Tiffany were just standing there and didn't have jack to say about it.

Girls can be very threatening and play so many mind games--especially Vanessa's "friends" it's like a bullying game they were doing with her. It really messed ehr up. She was so confused in the first place why they were treating her like *beep* that she didn't really know what to do in the situation she was put in. I think she just really thinks each time that they pretend to be her friend---that they might really just accept her already & stop playing games. But that obviously wasn't the case. :/

i'm not even sure if my post made sense...but bullying just angers be...and some people don't know how to deal with it--for example...me.

I know exactly what you're saying because I've been there. I have never had a situation where I had friends bully me. It was always other kids, not friends. I don't blame Vanessa but I do think that she should have been more wary of those girls(mainly Stacey) once those things started to happen. I think one of the reasons this bothers me so much is because she had someone who actually wanted to be friend and she just blew her off up until she landed in the hospital. Also I think the minute her mom found out what was going on she should've really sat her down and talked to her about phony friends, backstabbing, etc. and how to deal with it.

yeah i never had my own friends turn against me like that like in the movie :( i wonder if that hurts more than from strangers? hmm.
And yeah i guess she should have been more wary of all the girls...she seemed to just me taking hit by hit from them. so sad. I feel like NOW in school they take Bullying more seriously--cuz its affecting a lot of suicides from people & its just so sad. i hate bullies so much
