Umm.. I don't like Paris at all, but I really have got to say, they worked their butts off going around the country for the Simple Life series..
Sure, it looked like all fun and games, and blonde stupid silliness, but actually think about their work schedule for it. Not only were they constantly on the road, but they had to work at all the different jobs just to amuse us.
I haven't tried it, but I don't think it's really easy to make a series that is successful, and actually work daily and still be funny.
Paris is about the last person I normally would defend, but I think she's a bit smarter than we give her credit - - - I KNOW I couldn't handle the strain of being on the road going from job to job, literally going without money (when used to a millionairre lifestyle), and still have energy and pep to keep it going. I absolutely know that I couldn't handle it - - I'm don't have millions to spend, but I know I couldn't survive living in a motor home and begging for work. Think about how hard that lifestyle change would be. Yes, I'm sure the great majority of it is scripted and set up, but they really are up and going daily literally living as a poor people.
In that sense, I kind of hope she learns the value of a dollar. YES, of course she's getting millions for doing it, but it's not easy work at all.
But carrying her poor dog in her purse, dressing it up, and giving it highlights and hair extensions IS absurd, and not even healthy for it. It's against dog nature not to run around and exercise. I cringe when I see it in diamonds and dresses, being an arm accessory.
I still can't believe I wrote this in defense of her. I really don't like her, and I think almost all of the "bad things" that have plagued her (like the videos or stripping on tables - ie, the 'bad publicity') have been all her choice, purposely set up to make her in that carved-out custom image.
But, she really did work hard for her series - - and for that, I just have to give her credit. I live a very charmed life, and for that I'm very grateful, and I know I couldn't survive even living in that tin can, let alone begging to work for gas & food. I do have a feeling it might make her a little more aware of what it is to work. (although for her, it pays off 100x what our jobs do :)
The end of this ramble? I've never been to Walmart either. If that previous quote was actually from her, then I guess she doesn't watch tv - the commercials say it all. How can you miss the roll back smiley face?
But I think the issue is that there IS a big difference between really dumb, and playing dumb. I think she's got a bit more ticking inside of her than we think she does..
Did anyone understand this? haha.. I was out late last night, and decided it was morning so I stayed awake. If this was incoherent, at least you know what 30 hours of awake does to me! :)

but serisouly i saw an episode once and it doesnt look like she's grateful for anything she has. i mean, jeez, she goes to these people's houses, eats THEIR food, stays in THEIR houses, works for them, and still she doesnt realise how incredibly lucky she is.
it just pisses me off
