Just Saw This Last Night.....

I Just Saw this movie last night...Let me start by saying I'm a HUGE Jason Mewes Fan..but this movie pretty much sucked...all the acting was good(especially by jason mewes)except for Paris Hilton. She is one of the worst actresses ever!(paris hilton fans please dont attack me, it's my opion you can have your own)The funniest parts in this movie are the parts including Jason Mewes's characters gay uncle, and the first scene including Kevin Smith. It had funny parts here and there, but overall it wasn't that good. Paris Hilton was just annoying, her acting was bad, the way she walked you could just see that she was full of herself, Everytime she talked(for obvious reasons), and in some scenes she's working in a Soup Kitchen..really truthfully can u see paris working @ a soup Kitchen??..also their chemistry is not believable, not because Jason Mewes, I just couldn't ever see the two of them together, there's not really any explanation for why Jason Mewes Character likes Paris's character.so...its kind of like...um...why would you like her? But Kevin Smith's cameo was good, MOST all the acting was good, but It's not a very good storyline. If your a Jason Mewes fan,I'd say see it, just for him. But if you havent heard of him, or dislike him..I wouldn't bother. Again don't bash me..I'm just stating my opinion..after you see it..decide for yourselves.

That's the type of character she was trying to portray, some rich girl that is full of herself.

It's not supposed to be 'can you see paris working in a soup kitchen' it's supposed to be 'can you see Lisa working at a soup kitchen' you're confusing Paris with her character.

maybe that's just my opinion on your opinions.

I think if you went into this movie expecting something and I mean something more than Paris Hilton just standing there you're gonna be disappointed. She was horrible from her bad brunette weave on down. This wasn't Mewes' "Clerks" performance w/o question and I kinda felt like they just had Kevin Smith in the movie b/c he didn't have shyt else to do so why not make a cameo in a lazyboy a few times. I did get lots of laughs out of Pip Wingo and Big Earl. If it weren't for them I would have turned the movie off shorty after I saw Johnny Messner say his 2 lines.

Just as an FYI...Kevin Smith didn't choose to do the movie when it was cast. He was doing it as a favor to Jason and the production crew because Paul Walker was supposed to be that part and couldn't make it down from Canada where he was filming another movie. It was very last minute and I think it's great of him to take time out of a busy schedule to do this favor for Jay.

It takes a good actress to seperate herself from the typecast she's set in and the role she is playing. Key words here are GOOD and ACTRESS, paris hilton isn't an actress. she couldn't even be an extra. she is just trash that forgot to be picked up.

She is NOT a bad actress. It's just not her strong type of movies. She is more into adult themes. She was very cool there on her debut. If there is an oscar analogue in this genre, she will get it sooner or later!

I saw this last night too. I was not expecting a great movie, but I had hoped that it would be funny and entertaining. I agree that Paris' 'acting' ruined the movie. I could actually see her trying to recall her lines which she delivered like it was the very first time she had read them. She looked into the camera so many times.. it was really distracting. And I could barely hear her. Her lack of personality really shone through in this. There were some funny parts, but I felt like overall, this movie just didn't work.

I love Mewes but I didn't love his performance here. I mean, it was good, but he is capable of much better...it reminded me of his performance in Mallrats, still funny, but nothing compared to Clerks, or what I beleive was his triumph in Strike Back...

True, I think the first taste of true acting we ever got from Mewes was his monologue at the end of Dogma...you know the whole "Who the *beep* are you lady? Why the *beep* did you hug my head?" bit...but yeah, he ruled strikes back no contest

It was pretty bad...but not a total waste. The part where Kevin farted was pretty funny. And anything involving Hayden's little posse.
