My problem with this movie is that it takes the premise of rocky, a guy coming out of nowhere and getting a bit shot, and then through his strong will manages to do well...the problem is that the fighting robots won't have this same will. Atom is a junkyard sparring bot, not built to stand up to beatings the way it did, no matter how strong the wills of the people involved.

Guess you missed the part where they incorporated high tech attack-guidance systems into a robot thats built to take a beating. And his shadow function, part from being a sparring bot, thought him how to box from a former boxer.
Of course it has no will or heart, its just the tech and know-how coming perfectly together.
Why does one car can keep on driving for decades and tons of miles while another breaks down after a year, will ? Lol.

Same i was thinking after reading the OP's comments. Seriously i don't get why people start finding realism in fiction and fiction in realism. A movie is made to entertain, and it did well so, where does the Logic crawls in? People watching Thor, LOR, etc movies and there question stupid things. Either the film makers are losing the mind of making only realistic movies which would entertain the people or either the world is going nuts, finding fiction in real stories and real stories in fiction.
I just wish that such people be banned from imdb for posting such stupid comments. If you didn't like film, then go wank and sleep but don't ruin it for the people who liked and enjoyed it.
