Question about Alice - re cure for T-virus (SPOILER)

Hello,

Can someone who has seen this film please let me know what you think:

At the end, when Alice meets the White Queen, she is told that her blood is the cure for the T-virus.

I wanted to ask: Do you think that necessarily means that they are going to kill off Alice in future sequels? That she might have to 'sacrifice' herself for the cure? Or do you think that there is always a possibility that she might be able to derive a serum/cure from her blood without having to die?

I've been wondering about that coz I love that character and I'd hate to see her die...

reply

Well it was never made clear HOW this would cure the zombies, like i doubt it could turn them back into humans, maybe it's like the anti-virus with 100%? If eveeryooone was immunised, no more zombies could form, then the remaining ones would "just" need to be killed...

Also remember Alice isn't technically human anymore, so if she'd be sacrificing herself depends on whether or not she NEEDS blood to live :)

reply

She wouldn't need to use ALL her blood to make a cure, just a little bit. So she wouldn't di unless she's a haemophilliac XD

-One minute's the price...

the White Queen says they can just use some of her blood and create the cure with the technology that was in that base. its just like any disease that needs blood to fix, you dont literally need every drop of that specific blood. you just need a bit and from there you can create the vaccine and create a potentially endless supply.

Thank you all for your reply.

For those who have seen the fourth film (Afterlife), do you think that this element of the Extinction script (i.e. Alice's blood as cure) will be brought back in the fifth film?

reply

The problem is that T-Virus mutated in 6 months between clone attack in Tokyo and land at Alaska so even if Alice created the cure in Nevada Faclity it is useless.
But at the end of Retribution Alice was infected by T-Virus again so she can create the powerfull cure now.
