Can you believe it's been ten years?

Watched PUPPET MASTER VS. DEMONIC TOYS (2004) last night. Beginning to be a yearly tradition around this time. I didn't get to see the original premiere because I don't have SyFy, but I finally got to see it when the Anchor Bay DVD popped up at Wal-mart in early 2006. Cost maybe a little under ten bucks.

I know, its almost hard to believe. I can remember seeing this back when it first aired on SyFy back in 2004 (being a big fan of both series, PM and DT), and thought it lived up to everything it promised. Definitely a welcome addition to the series (watch it whenever I'm feeling nostalgic).

I don't mind the film for what it is, but I don't think it was anywhere near as good as it could have been. Especially for a script by Courtney Joyner. But then again he did write PUPPET MASTER: THE LEGACY and TRANCERS 6 as well. I don't think Corey Feldman was the right choice for Robert Toulon, and neither did Courtney who apparently wrote the role surprisingly for Fred Willard.

I remember when this movie was just a concept, rumors in the wind of when it would finally happen.

Yeah, as far back as 1994. At least that's when they first planned it. The script used here probably dates back to 2001 at the latest. I remember Full Moon intended to release toys based on the new Cyber Puppets. There are pictures of them online, but obviously the toy line didn't fall through.
