This is old, but maybe someone else will read it:Some of the night-time shots were done with the Panavision Genesis (which the DP, Mauro Fiore, had also used on a TV pilot called Faceless). These scenes are smeary and have digital noise in them, and you can see vertical flares from bright light sources (like the headlights of the SUV that Jamie Foxx and the Saudi Arabian ambassador get into in Washington DC). A lot of electronic cameras end up having those flares, because of how the light hits the sensor; something like that. The film stuff was shot on Kodak. I don't know exactly what. Probably 5218 at a minimum.Apparently they did some stuff on HD because Peter Berg was on his Michael Mann wannabe kick at the time. That's probably also where all the handheld shaky cam came from.
