SPOILERS: My favourite supporting actors in The Kingdom.

Here are my favourite supporting actors in The Kingdom, in no particular order:

1: Mahmoud Said as general Al-Abdulmalik:
For all his vices (and not a lot of screen time), I think Al-Abdulmalik was a great character! Mahmoud Said did a good job. Look at when he realizes he was wrong about sgt. Haytham and when he arrives at the scene after Fleury hits the saudi soldier.

2: Ali Suliman as sgt. Haytham:
He killed some terrorists, was tortured for it (by a countryman) and loses none of his patriotism (without making a fuss about it) and does his duty with the main characters. You don't see many patriots being portraied like this in american movies! Thumbs up!

3: Richard Jenkins as FBI director Robert Grace:
He didn't have many scenes in this movie, but in my view, he deserved an Oscar for the most epic scene of the entire film; the meeting between him and the attorney general, where he talks about his lesson from Vietnam.

What are your thoughts?

spot on, i really enjoyed this film, and all the actors gave it their best.

Good post, I totally agree.

"Couldn't care less" = "don't care at all"
"Could care less" = "care at least a little"

Agreed. Mahmoud Said was great even in the little screen time he had. His interrogation scene with Haytham and the part where he yells at the guy who starts firing after Fleury punches the Saudi solider for hitting Faris.. very good acting.

Oh, also, Ashraf was very good as Faris, but I think you didn't mention him here because you said "supporting actors" and his role was slightly bigger.

The training is nothing. WILL is everything.

I enjoyed the scene between the two American statesmen myself. This was the one thing this film got right: that despite crippling inadequacies of leadership, organization, and communication, largely through professional jealousies and political rivalries, it's still all the fault of the Saudis, as Americans perceive it.

P.S., Things I learned from 'The Kingdom': Don't get in a wrestling match with Jennifer Garner. She's a biter!
