Why was this released as PG-13 here in the States but released uncut in Europe?

The PG-13 version that was released in the U.S. was released worldwide, and an uncut version was then released overseas on DVD/Blu-ray. As for the reasoning, I have no idea.

Anonymous censors evaluating movies. Producers willing to water down movies just to get that 13-16 year old crowd. Politically correct movie goers that don't like edgy movies. Take your pick.
