update 3-4-09: watched a 'behind the scenes' piece on the DVD, it clearly shows the car being driven and crashed is a C8 Laviolette. There was also some news articles from the time of the film's release that mention that Spyker provided a total of four C8 Laviolettes for the production.
The mention of a Spyder in the dialogue could be an anachronism. Likely the scene was written and filmed with the intention the car was going to be the Spyder, then the car was changed to the hard top.
