I think it's in the financial district- the building is by Sir Norman Foster is locally referred to as "the Gherkin"

No, that's where his office was.

The "Gherkin" was designed by Norman Foster for Swiss Re. They spent £350m on that and just sold it for £600m recently.

Gherkins (often pickled) are a vegetable popular with fast food chains usually sliced and included in hamburgers.
