Screened at the True/False Film Festival
Just saw this amazing series (all three hours back to back) at the True/False Film Festival in Columbia, Missouri. Adam Curtis himself did a Q&A after the presentation. We questioned him about DVD availablity and the possibility of showing it on American TV. Contrary to some of the other postings, he said there were no plans and little chance of a DVD release, citing something about the expense of securing the rights to the archival footage "in perpetuity." He also mentioned he'd shopped it around in America, even sending a copy to Bill Moyers/PBS, but as yet had no response.
Curtis was questioned about how he felt about downloads. He gave his full endorsement, saying there was an ongoing debate at the BBC about this form of distribution. He mentioned he'd been the top Bittorrent download for a week sometime in the recent past; he seemed pleased.
