PBS, like Democrats, is lesser evil
Did the film ever air in the States?

Out of curiousity do any of you know if the Power of Nightmares ever aired on television in the States? I do not remember seeing this on PBS or any educational program discussing terrorism...
From a handout <circa 2006> at a showing of this movie, a letter you can send to different places to try to get them to show this documentary:
Dear ,
I recently had the privilege of watching a BBC documentary called "The Power of Nightmares." It is very enlightening and helps fit together parts of the puzzle about why this administration behaves the way it does (partially). I contacted PBS and asked why they have not shown it. The response was "it is not available in the US." Further inquiry resulted in the fact that the BBC had submitted this program over a year ago to PBS and they turned it down. In a Q&A section on a BBC website http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/4202741.stm Adam Curtis [maker of the film] said
NOTE: We are very keen that the programmes are made widely available including in America and although the main networks have shown little interest, we are confident that the programmes will be shown in some form.
Why is the American public not allowed to see information about our administration that England has seen twice over a year ago? Is mass media simply a vehicle of information for the powerful? Are we living in a fascist regime?
If you could look into this situation you would be doing this country a tremendous favor.
Sincerely,
I used to have a lot of respect for PBS. But now I think they are just another example of corporate propaganda. They pretend to be a station for the 'public' but they're not. But as with the Democrats, they are so much better than the regular 'commercial' stations that you just tend to go there. There is no where else to turn. share
