Garrett Hedlund's shocking acting choice (spoiler):
This was not a great movie by a long shot.
BUT, the scene where Jack gets shot. He is screaming, hysterical, crying and calling "Bobby!! BOBBY!!!" over and over. This may seem a minor observation, but it really is significant in it's vulnerability. ESPECIALLY compared to what we've been anesthetized to in movies. Usually (if not always) and especially in "macho" movies like this one, when someone gets shot, they yell in anger. They howl in pain. They curse. What you don't see is wailing a loved one's name while shrieking, spitting and hyper-ventilating. THAT is the response I would think is much closer to reality.
I don't know if Singleton gets the credit for that but I wanna give the kudos to Hedlund; he's become an interesting actor.
Anyone else notice this?
