Movie should have done so much better.

I love this movie, I really think it had potential to be a good franchise.

I agree with you. ..
So disappointed with its box office sales. I wonder what else came out that same week and after.

it was released on the weekend of World Cup....

So the target audience didn;t attend the movies and the top spot went to Karate Kid remake.

reply

It was decent enough but the box office taking were mild.

It's that man again!!

I've only ever seen the extended cut and I love it. I thought it was actually really respectful to the source material when you consider how loose most reboots play with the canon. I don't know if the non-extended cut wasn't as good and maybe that's why it didn't work for people but based on the version I watched I can't understand why it wasn't a more successful movie. I think a sequel would have been amazing and I am going to be forever bitter there won't be one with this cast, because they were so good together.

Maybe it just wasn't the right time? We'll never know, I guess.

What a profound observation. You fit right in on the internet.

Maybe they should re-released it on a non hectic weekend. Put it up against lesser known films. I bet it would do well.

reply

I agree I enjoyed it a lot

I was surprised that it was actually quite good. I remembered it did not do well and the idea of Liam Neeson as Hannibal seemed silly to me but, I have to admit, it was OK. Also it's aged well. Lots of action films look dated and clunky after a few years but this one didn't creak at all.

It lacked the MacGyver charm of the TV series.

reply

You compare The A-Team to MacGyver and you dare to call yourself Cognoscenti? Shame on you.
