I only watch this show from time to time, but do they ever show updates on past families to see how they are doing?

As far as I know, no, but I sure wish they did. I would like to see if they are still being consistant. They need to go back to some of the first season families.

They did once in the first season but after that they stop I wish they did that two special the three seasons!
