Atkinson family ? 11/5/2010

Something that bothered me so much that I even dreamed about it last night. The father's daughter from another marriage, Julie. I realize that with editing we don't get the full picture, but I felt like all the focus was on the obnoxious, mean kids. Julie seemed very sweet and well behaved. It also felt like she was just in the background. I wander what life is like for her to be in that house. I would think it is awful. We saw that it was recommended to the mother to spend special time with her two older (hateful) daughters. Why wasn't the same advice given regarding Julie spending special time with dad? She needs to be acknowledged for the great kid that she is.

I know that it must be sad for her mother to watch that episode and see what she must endure. I also know that her mother and hopefully her father are so very proud of the child that they have. She is very special. I just feel sad to know that she has been exposed to such dysfunction.

I totally picked up on that too. We didn't even see any sound bytes from the confessional, or anything. I hope the show isn't representative of her life in that house!

I totally agree, though; often parents spend too much time fussing over the troublesome kids. They'll even TELL the "good kids" in no uncertain terms: "Oh, he just demands a lot of my attention. You're such a good girl you don't make me fuss over you. See? It's a good thing." Yeah right!

And I'm crazy, but you like it! Loca, loca, loca...
