I always find myself wondering how Jo would handle the families that Nanny 911 has. I sometimes say to myself, Jo would have done that better. JMO.
I know that's exactly what I'm thinking right now.
I'm in the middle of an episode of Nanny 911 from Season 1. Nanny Yvonne (the first Yvonne, not the second). The one-hour show is 3/4 over and I've barely seen her step in. She just stands to the side, arms crossed and shaking her head disapprovingly. And although the show is ending and they're ARE more well-behaved, I can see that there is still much work to be done, and Nanny Yvonne is getting ready to leave. Right now, as I type, they are running a bit wild in a clothes store. And dad just lost one of the kids. Yvonne is not even ON the trip with them! I guess she just stayed at the house. O.o (LOL) Jo on Supernanny would definitely be addressing the childrens' behavior in public and teaching dad how to deal with that better.
All I've really seen Yvonne do is encourage dad to give them baths, paint their toenails, use a lower tone of voice, and the oldest child to set the table. She hasn't taught the family any solid techniques. Something they can use in the future. Hmm. :-)
Now she's standing to the side nodding approvingly. (Queue touching end-credit music. lol)
Oh.... and Nanny 911 just gave the family a brand new BATHROOM. Yes, they are adding a brand new bathroom to the home for them.
Jo would've given them a schedule and taught them how to more effectively share and utilize their space. And probably would've set up consequences for using too much bathroom time, or made it a game for the kids to get their showers/baths done in allotted amount of time.
