A better English Narrater?

(This may be a UK thing) Was I the only person disapointed in the choice of Narroter for the English version? For me, there's only one person that should be let anywhere near the narrating duties for a film like this.

David Attenborough.

Hes been doing it for over thirty years, hes the 2nd most trusted voice on television. Surely you couldnt get any better. (I bet he would have been cheaper that Morgan Freeman as well.)

Just a thought.

Psychoshark.

The irony of mis-spelling 'Narrator' whlist complaining about Morgan Freeman is not lost on me!

I thought he put in an excellent, understated performance with just the right amount of emotion and gravitas. Plus, they wouldn't have wanted or got David Attenborough - he's not rent-a-voice for all things 'natural world' and he's far too closely associated with the BBC. Plus - I don't know that he's a household name in both the US and the UK. Morgan Freeman fitted the bill excellently.

Yeaahhh! Morgan Freeman, was awesome. Do people in the UK like him too?

I love him. Best american narration voice. Closely followed by Alec Baldwin. The best english one ever was/is obviously John Peel(RIP).

trevor mcdonald?

Why would you say that? Lol! That has made my day. I'm the most trusted voice on television. No, actually it's Blair. Or maybe me. No, personally I think it's David Attenborough. Or my mum. Most trusted voice on television?!
Morgan Freeman is an actor (superb), Attenborough is a naturalist (superlative). 'March of the Penguins' is not a nature programme. It's a messy Hollywood hybrid that is informative for young children and entertaining for those who probably should know better. In terms of voice over - just because Freeman played God (!) in his last film does not mean he is an apt choice to play the voice of nature. He's got a nice voice but let's not be daft. It should be Blair because I trust him so much! He knows his penguins.
Or my mum. She's a very dramatic naturist. With a lovely voice.

I'm british, and thought MF did a fine job, it's about time we had some new voices in nature programs. I could listen to both men narrate the phone book, but I think he did a fine job of captivating, me anyway.

*beep* you i hate you i love morgan freeman

I'm biased to the French version but I thought MF did a good job. But I prefer the French one.

"ever since the day i was born, people have loved to hear the sound of my voice" - MF on Family Guy

Morgan Freeman would make a great relaxation tape. Sooooooothing voice. I loved to listen to him when he narrated the Shawshank Redemption.

While he does have a soothing voice i cant help but feeling a bit disappointed with the narration in the film. It was very cringe worthy in places and although i can appreciate it is a film marketed at families and children some of the lines made me want to rip my hair out - 'This is a story about love' arrrrggghh. I suppose Freeman could have been a great choice if the narration had been written a little better.
