The Right Wing Lessons of March of the Penguins
I'm only posting this because my school had a showing of the movie which had a panel discussion afterwards about how some right wing groups were putting it forth as an example of intelligent design because it showed penguins as monogamous and heterosexual. Evidently they had their ears off when Morgan Freeman explained the breeding cycle of the penguins as "sort of" monogamous. As for gay penguins, I don't really know enough on that subject to comment, but it sounds like a bit of a stretch.
I'm guessing someone might have brought this up somewhere, so this is meant to be a humorous thread as to what other lessons and examples those zany conservative Christians of FreeRepublic.com might draw from this movie.
1. Penguins can't fly because their left wing is indecisive.
2. If the mother is killed, the chick will not be fed. Clearly, the fault lies not with the penguin society, but in the fact that the mother was too lazy to avoid getting killed. Therefore, the orphaned chick doesn't deserve welfare.
3. Global warming is a good thing, as it will reduce the distance the penguins have to walk from the water.
