Yeah Nicole Kidmans character got away with at least 6 murders in the drugstore. All these people would have been cured by the antidote that they found yet Kidman went and just blew them away. She should have just shot them in the leg like she did Daniel Craig OR she should have blown Daniel Craig away and shot the others in the leg. Now that would have been a better ending!

That's the factor that tips the scales. Getting her son to the CDC almost literally "saves the world." It would be justifiable to kill millions of people, let alone several, to get him to the CDC. Because if the son doesn't get to the CDC, there are no more people.

shareShe was clearly invoking the 'Anti Alien' clause of her State 'Stand Yer Ground' Law, So she is Ok! That same clause also has exceptions for protection of potential BFFs and Boyfriends. That's why she shot him in the leg... it's allowed but then she might be sued after he becomes 'Human again.
