How come she wasn't arrested for murder?

Yeah Nicole Kidmans character got away with at least 6 murders in the drugstore. All these people would have been cured by the antidote that they found yet Kidman went and just blew them away. She should have just shot them in the leg like she did Daniel Craig OR she should have blown Daniel Craig away and shot the others in the leg. Now that would have been a better ending!

With the circumstances she was under, and no eye witness reports, I think she deserves /not/ to be charged with murder. If you were subject to a horrible alien virus and the only way to live was to kill someone, would you want to be charged?

reply

It was self defense. There would be no charges for that.

Is it morally right to save yourself from infected humans who are trying to infect you with an alien virus when you don't know if there will be a cure at all?

Absolutely.

reply

She killed several innocent people to save just one person albeit her son, is that morally right?

Seing as how her son's blood enabled the scientists to create the cure, I'd say it is.

reply

If someone broke into your home and threatened to kill one of your family would you even ask the question?

> Seeing as how her son's blood enabled the scientists to create the cure, I'd say it is.

That's the factor that tips the scales. Getting her son to the CDC almost literally "saves the world." It would be justifiable to kill millions of people, let alone several, to get him to the CDC. Because if the son doesn't get to the CDC, there are no more people.

I think most mothers would kill several people to save their own child. These people were 'innocent' but they were also possessed and intending to cause her and her child harm.

Hey.. what happens during the alien virus invasion, stays with the alien virus invasion

reply

Do you honestly think a mother is going to allow her son to be killed? because that's what they were going to do to Ben once they got a hold of him. "There is no place in our world for someone who is immune." She was defending herself and her son.

You know why!

reply

Self defense. I don't think any jury would really blame her for what she did.

reply

Technically the 6 people she shot were not human beings at the time of the killing, so given that is a prerequisite to press murder charges, there would be no reason to arrest her, even if they had any proof.

reply

How about the kid? She slammed his head pretty good into the bedpost, could have easily killed him.

I just watched this, so I'm very very late to commenting. But I'd have to guess you either don't have kids or were trying to see how many responses you'd get.

She was clearly invoking the 'Anti Alien' clause of her State 'Stand Yer Ground' Law, So she is Ok! That same clause also has exceptions for protection of potential BFFs and Boyfriends. That's why she shot him in the leg... it's allowed but then she might be sued after he becomes 'Human again.

You cannot say that I cant say what I said...because I just said it. So There!
