UK locations - Edinburgh?

I really enjoyed last night's debut show & really hope the others keep up the momentum.

I couldn't help thinking that one of these scenes looked just like the University Quad in Edinburgh (New College).

The listing has Manchester and Dubrovnik - the latter is an obvious alternative to the "real" Venice, whereas the former does have its fair share of canals - or was it mainly used for the interoirs?

Manchester was used for studios and a couple of locations. One I believe was Tatton Park (doubling for the Italian landscape). They also did a day or two in Venice for the real canals, and their "France" was actually somewhere up in the hills near Bolton. The docks in London were really in Liverpool and Cornwall. I'm pretty sure they didn't shoot anything in Scotland.

The scenes with elderly Casanova, played by Peter O'Toole, were filmed at Chirk Castle, in North Wales
