Casanova, A Masterpiece Of Theater

I have always enjoyed some of PBS programming.Even though Masterpiece Theater has been around for many years as a regular program on PBS I cannot recall ever even having the desire to watch any of the episodes.I came across Casanova while channel surfing a week ago.I remember having my finger on the remote more than ready to add Casanova with all of the other episodes that in the past I readily dismissed.Within a minute the remote was put down and I found myself fully inthralled with this wonderfully done movie.I felt truely transported back to the time and places set in the movie.I loved the humor.I loved the pathos that the movie evoked. The only dim spot in the movie for me was the quick demise of Jacks man servant "friend".I feel that the movie could`ve done a better job with that matter. All in all I loved the movie. The acting was superb as well as all aspects that brought the movie together.I wholely recomend this movie for anyone who is debating in viewing it.I have also learned not to so eagerly pass up Masterpiece Theater in the future........

It was the same for me too...I'm like "hmm alright whats this about" not expecting much and ended up loving it. I agree with the death of Jacks manservant - it seemed like a quick side note even though he was with Casanova for many years.

Lately Master Piece theater has been showing quirky programs though. I saw one called "My Family and Other Animals" about this family that moved to Greece pre WWII and one of the sons collected a bunch of animals.

Bummer, I've been wanting to see this version. Do you know when or if it will be on PBS again?
