I watched this on Masterpiece Theatre and absolutely loved it. I think I heard that the film had been edited down some for the states, so I was wondering how much of it (if any) was cut. They showed two parts, each an hour and a half, so three hours total. Was it originally any longer?
It must've been cut for content - there was very little onscreen sex. ;-)

sharethey dont go on for long, litterally about five seconds. all the sex scenes are about five seconds long, if that. It's more about his life than the sex he had. You're not missing anything. there's nothing to see, every thing is stratigically placed and david is clothed for the most part. Shame!
shareI've yet to see the UK DVD, but I think the cuts may be deeper than than what you say. Are you speaking of the DVD, or the UK broadcast? I'd bet the DVD has even more than what was shown in the UK, and the US version being edited even further.
