I think it was more that Giac's upbringing had not given him a strong sense of what were appropriate behaviours towards people. Hence, if he fancied an otherwise unknown person who happened to be his newly-met sister, he treated her as he treated other women, like a commodity. Casanova himself was appalled to realise this, because he recognised what his own free wheeling libertarian lifestyle meant for his son's development as an adult. Plus, Giac had completely missed out on Casanova's own most essential quality - namely that he genuinely loved and enjoyed and even respected women. Giac was a bad ass. His father was not.
shareI think his son was also rebelling against his dad, as he didnt have a stable up bringing, and basically stuck his fingers up at him. Lets face it as lovely as DT is, I really wouldnt want him as a father lol.

I think he would be a fine father. I doubt he's actually a womaniser in real life. He is after all married to one woman and very happily. I think he'd be a loving and attentive father and husband.
