okay I dont get this bit...after Edith finds out that Rocco died:
Edith:I never even knew him Older Casanova: Yes you did - Rocco Scapino - hes in here (points to book with all his lovers in) Edith: You didnt deserve him Older Casanova: Thats what it says.
Sorry if i messed up the script. So does this mean that Casanova slept with Rocco???
I think that Older Casanova ment that Edith did know Rocco, trough the stories Casanova told her, or the stories told by her father. He played a huge part in Casanova's life/love-stories, not as a lover, but as a friend. Picture yourself the whole story again, but without Rocco... that's nearly impossible!
Casanova never deserved such a great friend... and if you know the story, you know that, even if it isn't written there literaly... It's written between the lines.
Nah, I think it was the story of his life and his adventures. Which of course includes his lovers, but the book is basically the whole of the story he tells to Edith.
Well in Casanova's memoirs it does say he sleeps with a couple of men in his lifetime. The Casanova portrayed in the film and the one that existed in real life, both seemed open enough about their sexuality to sleep with anyone they were attracted to-male or female.
I suppose that one's open to interpretaion. He could have meant it either as a friend or a conquest.
