Colour Contacts

I absilutely ADORED this miniseries, but in certain lights I found that those blue colour contacts on David a tad distracting, and sometimes even a little bit creepy. Very disappointing as I find mr Tennant extremely sexy.

In the more dimly lit scenes, it looked rather nice... but in the direct light it just looked unnatural and I'm like "THEY SHOULD BE BROWN!!!!" Did anyone else feel this way or am I just too OCD about David's gorgeous eyes?

Thoughts?

Considering that the man has a gorgeous and distinctive set of brown eyes that are half of his charm and sex appeal, yes. It distracted the hell out of me. If it ain't broke...

It bugged me at first, but then I realized that with as much as they concentrated the camera on Peter O'Toole's very expressive eyes, the contrast between his beautiful blues and David's beautiful browns would have distracted me even more.

From what I understand it was because there is such a contrast between David Tennant's brown eyes and Peter O'Toole's fabulous blue eyes that it was decided to have DT wear the blue lenses. I'm sure someone would have commented on it if colored contacts weren't used.

I personally think they should have had Peter O'Toole wear brown contacts instead of David wearing blue. It has to be a crime to cover up those beautiful brown eyes:-)

I agree that David Tennant has gorgeous eyes, but Peter O'Toole is the bigger name in this miniseries. And he's known for his blue eyes (among other things.) Plus, given the fact that David Tennant does wear contacts, and Peter O'Toole may not, it's easier to ask someone who's familiar with contacts to wear colored ones.

But, mainly, it has to do with Peter O'Toole being the bigger name in this miniseries.

But, yes, it was disconcerting. Those blue contacts that David wears makes his eyes a darker blue than O'Toole. The effect is a little freaky.

THANK YOU! The blue contacts kept freaking me out and I thought I was going mad! I'm ecstatic that I'm not the only who thought they were a bit creepy! It just looks so... unnatural!

God, I love his gorgeous brown eyes.
