Wasn't Lyla just a little too calm when she realized that Louis was the one that had taken her hand there at the ending? I mean she didn't even know he was around, and hadn't seen him in 11 years? No gasp, or kiss, or anything for the man she had missed for 11 years? For that matter, Louis was a little too calm also, even though he was aware she was supposed to be there for the music program.
Although the ending was sweet, I think maybe it needed a little more thought and work.

I mean seriously, you would think Lyla would be hysterical.

I think what made that seen so powerful is that she was starting to instinctively realize that the musician was her son -- completely drawn in by the music -- almost in a hypnotic daze ... that she could have seen jesus himself and still not have flinched.
