Hindsight is 20-20 but they got life to the death penalty over 1200 bucks. I know people have died for much less but its still crazy. Like that TV show 48 Hours when the guy knows he's been had and is *hitting bricks its just not worth it. Hopefully someone watches this movie and its stops them from ruining a bunch of lives including their own.
Pretty sure you mean "hindsight" but yes, very sad and very unbelievable that someone could have such low value on a life that they would do such a thing.
Although some testified as to the $1200 figure, investigators discovered that it was really $36,000, not that that's an acceptable amount or anything.
I read that too. It does not make it any more acceptable, but less surprising maybe. It also explains why the older brother was having lots of trouble paying it back. Either way it was very sad.
