If Mazursky was such a badass then he would've ....

First, I thought Ben Foster did a great job playing the psycho older brother Jake Mazursky. Every scene he was in was a stealer. And apparently he had a good opportunity to play the character as the real-life dude actually was...

But if Mazursky was such a badass, he would've taken this all out on the San Diego connection who ripped him off selling the "bunk" E-tabs. This was what the original drug debt was all about. Mazursky was supposed to collect for Truelove from a dealer in SD, and instead of collecting the money he accepted bunk drugs as payment and would up getting ripped off. And he didnt go back down to SD and crack the dude's head - he went to Truelove with a story about how "we" got ripped off....which put the fateful events in motion.

Mazursky was either a dumbass or not as tough as he was depicted in the movie, most likely both. A real badass to be feared, he wasn't.

He WAS a badass, he was like a black belt in real life. But you can't just karate chop someone for selling you bunk. That's not how drug dealing works.

thats not how it went down. Yes, he was there to collect a debt from the guy but that guy didn't give him the bunk ecstasy. He went down and threatened the drug dealer, the drug dealer told him that a guy was coming by later on to sell him the Ecstasy. Jake and the drug dealer then robbed that guy of his ecstasy then tried to sell it then finding out it was no good.

True the first guy did owe the money but they basically robbed someone of the bad stuff to pay the debt. is he supposed to then go after the dealer they stole the bad E from?

im not sure where you gathered all of that, from basically one or two lines in the movie...i seem to remember mazursky trying to borrow the money from his dad, which means he was prepared to eat the $800 he still owed truelove..

you would think a badass wouldve placed the burden on the first dealer and not on himself...or he wouldve told truelove at the beginning to write it off...instead he'd tried borrowing it to make up the difference, so he basically felt responsible..

I read the Book My Stolen Son. Goes into detail the drug debt Ben Markowitz had with Jesse James Hollywood and the books fills in a lot of gaps that the movie had If you are a fan of the movie I recommend the book
