I saw an episode where all the children were playing hide and seek at Rebecca Rabbit's house. Freddy Fox shows how he can find everyone with his eyes closed, because he can smell everyone. Then they go inside to eat. Mr Fox turns up and is sniffing around outside, saying he can smell something yummy, which could be innocent enough but could be quite sinister.
I'm assuming this was a deliberate joke but am not 100% sure. Does Mr Fox do something similar in any other episodes?
Having seen another episode recently, it seems there is no doubt. Peppa and George were visiting their grandparents. Grandpa Pig was showing them the animals in his garden at night. They had just put the chickens to bed when Mr Fox appeared, asking where the chickens were.
Also, I love the episode where they have to travel across the river by boat to get to the picnic ground. The boat isn't big enough for everyone so it has to make many journeys back and forth. At one stage Daddy Pig and Mr Wolf are alone in the boat. When they are in the middle of the river, Mr Wolf says "I'm getting hungry", but Daddy Pig says something like "Don't worry. There's plenty of food at the picnic".
These little jokes are what I love most about Peppa Pig.
=*=*=*=*= The main reason that Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live
I was just watching an episode today where the kids had a fete to raise money for a new roof at playgroup. Emily elephant is doing the bric a brac stall and has a table full of things, Mr Fox is looking and when the teacher comes back it is empty and she asks how much money Emily got for selling it all, Emily says something like 'i didnt need to sell it Mr Fox took it away for free'haha
Another good one is Mr. Wolf, he's also hilariously sinister. I watched the episode yesterday where Daddy Pig had finished drawing up the plans for their house and Mr. Bull had finished building it, to test its strength Mr. Wolf blows on it (ala the Three Little Pigs) and is satisfied when it holds up.
Then he turns to Daddy Pig and asks him what his house is made of with a smile on his face.
I'm sure Natalie Cox would conclude that he exists as an excuse to introduce the f word to kids since, after all it sounds even closer to the f word than the word "rocking" pronounced clearly and distinctively with an "r" at the beginning.
This is funny because I just came here to talk about some of the funny things in the newer episodes. Grandpa Pig was showing Peppa and George his garden and what he does at night. He was explaining that some animals eat during the day like his chickens and some animals eat at night like the slugs and Mr. Fox. And Mr. Fox pops up outside of his fence and is like, "Hello Grandpa Pig! Are the chickens in for the night?" And Gpa Pig says yes, and he's like Ok then! And walks off. Cause foxes eat chickens. lol
