In memory of the Scholl siblings

Today marks the occasion and date where Sophie, her brother Hans, and their friend Christoph were sentenced to death for speaking the truth against the Nazis. While it may seem like their actions were in vain, their voice is not forgotten nor was it silenced. Here's something I wish to share. While I'm not Roman Catholic, this is a pretty cool witness to the testimony of their actions and why they did what they did. It is personally inspiring.

Also a noteworthy comment at the end of the article:

"Thank you for this thorough article. As a writer who translated several of Sophie Scholl and Fritz Hartnagel's letters into English for the first time (over fifteen years ago), and if memory does not fail me, it is important to also remember that Sophie gifted Fritz (and/or vice versa) Newman's writings to one another and discussed them among themselves when he was on leave.
Sophie encouraged Fritz's religious development despite and perhaps because of the horrible and horrific situation he found himself in. It was perhaps because of gifted religious writers like Newman that Sophie was able to convince Fritz to 'obey' another oath than the one he was forced to swear to when Hitler took over the German Armed Forces. Fritz's resistance, as an Officer in the Wehrmacht, must not be minimized or overlooked.
He risked his life to write Sophie of his eyewitness to war crimes and as an officer his letters were not read. History has judged him both as a conspirator and collaborator. Amazing."
