Follow the Rabbi's son into the bathroom at the restaurant? Slevin was in control of the entire plot, so what was the purpose of the bathroom scene? What did I miss?

A previous post talked about plot-holes... But to me the most noticeable plot-hole was that the bodyguards let the rabbi's son go to the bathroom by himself in the first place.
